The high school choir under the direction of Carrie Schellenberg-Wilson at the Eastman Choral Workshop concert at Steinbach Mennonite Church.

Friday, October 14th was a musical day in Steinbach. About 400 singers from Grade 5 - High School came together for a full day of rehearsals and then a fabulous concert in the evening. It is just amazing how these young people see the music for the first time at 9:30 in the morning and by 6:00 pm they have them ready to go for performance... VERY impressive. Guest conductors Johanna Hildebrand, Dorothy Dyck, and Carrie Schellenberg-Wilson were filled with energy and musical knowledge to pass on to our students and the guest accompanists were a great support - Kim Bestvater-Sidorchuk, Michelle Sawatzky-Koop, Jane Duerksen and MaryLou Manke. The Eastman Youth Choir topped the concert off with a fabulous performance -- part of their weekend tour. Great to see choral music alive and well in the southeast!!
