A man from Powerview-Pine Falls faces numerous charges after a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons.

On Saturday at approximately 12:05 am, Powerview RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Powerview-Pine Falls.

Police say open liquor was seen in the vehicle and the driver refused to provide a breath sample when asked for one. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of drugs, bear spray, brass knuckles, a machete, batons and a conducted energy weapon.

The 47-year-old male driver from Powerview-Pine Falls was arrested and is facing charges of:

  • refusing to comply with a breath demand
  • two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon in a motor vehicle

He is also facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
