Nobody was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle collision along Highway 52 earlier today.

Just after 1:30 PM, emergency personnel were dispatched to a crash near the intersection of Highway 52 and Bushfarm Road. To slow passing motorists and protect those involved, the Steinbach Fire Department momentarily blocked one of the eastbound lanes. The RCMP, meanwhile, examined the scene.

Following their initial investigation, police believe one vehicle was attempting to switch lanes when it was unsafe to do so and collided with a second vehicle in the process. Both drivers lost control and ended up in the ditch. RCMP add none of the drivers or occupants appeared to have significant injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene and the highway has since reopened.

Firefighters directed traffic and momentarily blocked one of the eastbound lanes.
