There was a two-vehicle collision between a small car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Main Street and Reimer Avenue Friday night.

Steinbach Deputy Fire Chief Ron Chausse says the collision occurred shortly before 10:25 P.M. He notes both southbound lanes and one northbound lane were closed to traffic.

Chausse says there were two people in the small car and one motorcyclist.

“We've had one injury here to the motorcyclist, one person was taken to hospital from the vehicle for precautionary measures and the driver of the vehicle was a refusal at the scene, so no medical there.”

Chausse says the nature of the motorcyclist's injuries are not known at this time, but he was transferred to the Health Sciences Centre immediately.

An RCMP traffic analyst was called in to determine the cause of the collision and Chausse says emergency personal are expected to be on scene well into the night.
