Downed trees in Woodrige shortly after the storm.

What was once a nice park setting now looks like a disaster.

That according to Leonard Vandale, owner of Wagon Wheel Campground in Woodridge, which took heavy damage from the surprise winter storm two weeks ago.  Vandale says they've been receiving a lot of help in cleaning up, but they still have a long way to go.

"We're still cleaning up.  We haven't even gotten halfway through.  There's some people from town that came out to help us.  My family came out to help us, and the campers came out to help clear their campers and get the wood and branches and everything else off.  We've still still got about two weeks of cleaning and processing the wood left."

He adds it looks like a bomb went off.

"Basically every campsite in the campground was effected.  I haven't talked to everybody yet, but from what I understand every camper got dinged somewhere or another.  Either their canopy got torn off, or their utility sheds were smashed up.  Some trailers are complete write-offs.  But I would say every trailer got at least some sort of damage."

Vandale says they have managed to clear the cabin lots, so hunting season reservations will be OK.  He adds that it is a hard thing to look at, but the campground will recover.
