After some light snow on Christmas Eve, the Southeast can expect a mix of sun and cloud for Christmas day with a high of –4. The wind will get stronger this afternoon, coming from the north, giving a wind chill of –11. 

If you are planning to travel in the evening, expect road conditions to deteriorate with a good chance of freezing rain and a low of –6.

As of 8:30am, Highway 52 is snow covered from Mitchell to Highway 59, and partly ice covered from Steinbach to La Broquerie. 

Highway 12 north and south of Steinbach and Highway 59 from St. Malo to Ile des Chenes are bare. 

The Trans-Canada is bare from Highway 12 to Winnipeg, and partly ice covered east of Highway 12. 

Highway 75 is partly ice covered and slushy.
