The Steinbach Family Resource Centre felt an outpouring of community support during Wednesday’s Taste of Summer Charity Barbecue.

Director Jo-Anne Dalton says it was amazing to be reminded of how many people care about the organization.

“It was so good to see the lineup down the street,” she comments, “it is just amazing to know that there are so many people willing to give that 20 minutes of their time to show their support.”

$2,150.17 was raised at the event. Dalton says this will go towards their general operations.

“This money means we can continue offering our free programming,” she explains. “We have something going on at our centre every day of the week for families with kids of every developmental age from 0-5.”

Dalton notes that this additional funding allows them to address relevant topics, bring in relevant speakers, and provide the resources that can enhance and create healthy families in the southeast.

Meanwhile, she thanks all of those who carved time out of their busy lives to come and eat hot dogs for a good cause.

People of all ages came out to enjoy the barbecue.
