A brand-new Steinbach Chamber of Commerce dining event aims to show off what Steinbach has to offer.

Chamber President Christine Beaumont says their upcoming Taste of Steinbach event will be quite the feast.

“Just imagine a long table set up on Elmdale between Lumber and Barkman, the street that is just in front of the cinema and the curling rink, and you can just imagine some flowers being set up and some artwork adorning the street. That is what Taste of Steinbach is going to be about.”

Beaumont says it is going to be an unforgettable, outdoor supper experience that will showcase our local food industry.

“It is really about food so highlighting our local producers, retailers, and restaurants. We have partnered with different individuals in the community, we have one chef that is coordinating the whole thing and it is also an opportunity to highlight our community so in the sense of getting that experience of what Steinbach is all about.”

Taste of Steinbach will take place on May 30th and, in the case of rain, will be held in the Steinbach Curling Club. Beaumont says all they need to do now is fill the chairs and make it a big celebration.

“We are hoping to not only attract our local community to come out but also let's make those invitations to people outside of our community that want to get a sense of what we are all about and maybe discover these hidden gems in terms of food.”

Anyone who is interested can purchase an eight-person table or buy an individual ticket. The money will cover the cost of the event.
