Car catches fire outside Frantz Inn

Steinbach and La Broquerie fire crews were called to the scene of a vehicle fire Tuesday morning outside the Frantz Inn in Steinbach.

Fire crews quickly had the situation under control.

La Broquerie Fire Chief Alain Nadeau says in that area, it's pretty common to have both fire departments work together. "Sometimes when it's close to the border they'll get dispatched first so they got here a few minutes before us. There was no damage to the building. It went perfectly."

Nadeau adds that this is the busiest his crew has been in a few days, explaining Christmas this year was slower. "It was so cold, I was happy, we got to have a nice quiet Christmas. A few little dings and dents out there but mostly quiet."

The cause of the fire is not suspicious.
