Author and world adventurer Cameron Dueck, was our special guest on the AM1250 Morning Show today.

Cameron grew up in Mennville, Manitoba but his adventurous spirit and career in journalism took him out of Canada 25 years ago and after living in numerous places, he landed in Hong Kong and has lived there for the last 15 years. Cameron most recently took a trip to Latin America due to his curiosity of the Mennonites who live there. Of course, many of our great grandparents came from Russia in 1874, and many of them, then, moved down south in the 1920's. He wanted to explore what his connection might still be with them. And on that trip he realized how Mennonite he still is.

His three goals on the trip were: To learn more about himself, to learn more about the Mennonites in Latin America and for an adventure. Cameron, you certainly got the adventure part down pat.

Cameron came back from his trip with MANY observations and many lessons learned but one that stood out for him was the role that Canada plays as motherland and home of the Mennonite culture for many Latin American Mennonites.

Much of the rest you can hear in his conversation with AM1250's Michelle Sawatzky in the AM1250 Audio Vault and ALL of the rest you can find in his book, "Menno Moto".

The virtual launch of Cameron's book will be co-hosted on Facebook Live by Menno Moto and Biblioasis on Thursday, March 14th from 6-8 pm.

All the best Cameron - proud to call you Manitoban!!
