Construction at the intersection of Highway 12, Acres Drive, and Penfeld Drive may have made it more difficult for motorists to get to local businesses but the owners of Dairy Queen and Pay Me Foods say it is business as usual.

The owner of Dairy Queen Jo Unger says customers seem to be finding their way to Dairy Queen despite the construction. She notes they also made sure to put a sign on Highway 12 to direct traffic.

"We found out almost immediately that if people had not turned at the Co-op gas bar to get onto that property, they would not be able to turn."

Jacob Schroeder is the owner of Pay Me Foods which is located just west of Highway 12 on Acres Drive. He says though people have to go around business has still been good.

"Well if we look at the numbers it shows that we are selling the same or a little bit more than we did last year in this time, so I think, actually no they are coming, they are finding their way around."

Unger says the construction may be an inconvenience now, but the final product will be worth it.

"That has been a very tricky intersection over the years, there has been a lot of accidents there and just trying to get onto the number 12 Highway from Acres or Penfeld was just about impossible."
