Manitoba Conservation has cancelled burning permits in eastern Manitoba. The ban also means farmers are not allowed to burn crop residue.

Conservation says tinder dry conditions, above average temperatures and strong winds are pushing the fire danger to extreme.

While burning permits are cancelled, campfires are still allowed within enclosed fire pits but extreme caution is advised.
