Brandt Street is down to two lanes from First Street to Lumber Avenue.

Construction has been causing delays in traffic. During slow times, these delays have been fairly minor, however, during rush hours, traffic has been backed up and delays have been significant.

In May, crews began preparing the area for major underground infrastructure renewal. The first step was to make sure residents had temporary water service hook-ups so they would continue to get treated water while the water main is replaced this summer.

The official construction of the water main itself has now begun.

As we reported on May 13th, during construction both southbound lanes will be closed to traffic. To facilitate this shift, southbound traffic is currently being diverted onto the northbound lanes which are now set up for 2-way traffic with pylons down the middle of the road.
