Aurele Boisvert

The Board Chair for South Eastman Health will soon step down. Aurele Boisvert had been asked to lead the board for another year but he says after careful consideration he has decided it's time for some new blood and a new leader. Boisvert adds now is a good time to leave because there is no health crisis going on in the southeast and he leaves the board in very competent hands. His term will expire March 31st.

Boisvert has been with the board eight years. The first two years he was finishing Senator Maria Chaput's mandate for two years. He was then appointed Chair and held that position the last six years. Boisvert says it has been challenging but he has met a lot of people and it's been fun.

Manitoba Health must now appoint a new Chair for the Regional Health Authority . Boisvert says that could either be an existing board member or a brand new one.

Boisvert says he likes variety in his life and it's time to move on, noting there are fields other than health care than can be just as exciting.
