(Crystal Hildebrandt hands cheque to Curtis Dawydiuk)

The 69th edition of the Hanover Ag Fair was only one month ago, yet organizers are ready to sit down and make some major decisions for year 70.

That, according to Curtis Dawydiuk, President of the Hanover Agricultural Society. He says on September 28th they will begin to make some concrete plans. Dawydiuk says there are a lot of ideas for next year but organizers need to be careful not to set the bar too high, and in doing so, create the potential for a letdown the following year.

Dawydiuk says one thing you can be certain of, and that is that similar to years past, the next Ag Fair will promote local talent. That is possible thanks in part to Country 107.7 FM which recently handed a cheque to the Ag Fair. The money will be used to pay and support local artists.

"It's an honour," he says. "It's greatly appreciated to be recognized for our support of local entertainment and such."

Dawydiuk says there are a lot of talented artists and musicians in the southeast and they are a huge asset to the Ag Fair. He notes they're starting to figure out that local talent is helping bring visitors through the gates.

"It's definitely a trend that we're noticing, is us supporting local entertainers, our local area supporting us in return," notes Dawydiuk. "A lot of that is locals supporting local."

Dawydiuk says they had a great Fair in 2014. With new members added to their planning committee, he says it was a success by all accounts.
