Animals Perish In St. Pierre Area Fire
A number of animals perished in a barn fire just over two miles east of St. Pierre. Deputy fire chief Rene Frechette said the old barn housed chickens and sheep and was a devastating loss for the owners.

Weapons Confiscated From Youth At SRSS
Steinbach RCMP were called to the Steinbach Regional Secondary School after a youth was found with an airsoft gun and knives in his backpack. RCMP say SRSS staff handled the situation with professionalism as the youth was separated from the weapons before police arrived.
