Summer 2020 has come and gone and we're welcoming autumn to the calendar.  And autumn has started out strong with warm weather...that is good stuff!  Here's some more good stuff that happened this week!  If you see some good stuff, please let us know about it!

A sweet run.

Runners congregated...but still apart... to run the streets of Kleefeld last week.  The annual Kleefeld honey run took place, it looked a little different, but they still got to run and on the streets.  And the winners...got honey!  That is good stuff!

Born on Hwy 12

Carter John Penner was born on Hwy 12 earlier this week.  He couldn't wait to get to the hospital so his dad was forced to help deliver him roadside.  Thanks to his dad's familiarity with calving, Carter came into the world safe and sound and was helped along by paramedics that joined the family roadside a few minutes after his birth.  This? Ya...it's good stuff!

Mildly pleased.

The Old Farmer's Almanac...(as opposed to a newer almanac) has promised Manitoba a mild fall and a snowy winter.  Snowy...not frigid...snowy.  And well a mild fall...yes...this is good stuff.

Sport Manitoba raising their hashtag game

#NoRefNoGame is a new media campaign to bring attention to the decline of referees in sports.  Without the refs we've got no game!  This campaign to bring awareness to what it's like being a ref is definitely good stuff!

Kids...grab your badminton raquets!

Dr. Roussin says it's okay for some after school activities to begin, so bring on the theatre clubs, dance classes and badminton games!  Protocols need to be followed, but the chance to play is good stuff!

Polish those cowbells!

Okay...we might not need them quite yet. But it's good to be prepared for cheering at the rink!  Pistons camp began this week and with pre-season games starting next weekend this is definitely good stuff!

Guiding you to the colours of fall.

Aaaah fall...such a pretty looking season...for about 3 weeks.  A guide to help you find some ways to enjoy the colours is good stuff! So jump in your car, truck, motorbike, RV, rickshaw, wagon or bicycle and head out!

Smiling at all the cookies!

$15,500 in cookies were sold...and consumed in a week!  That is a LOT of cookies eaten all to support YFC Steinbach during the annual Tim Horton's Smile Cookie Week. Eating cookies and raising a pile of cash for a local charity?  Yup...good stuff!

A pivot to apples.

A local cider maker is looking for your apples!  Gary Wiebe had to pivot from harvesting pumpkins to apples to pressing apples for cider and has come out successful. So much so that he's now needing your apples!  Finding a way to make lemonade out of lemons or rather...apple cider out of apples is definitely good stuff!

Winner winner....burger dinner!

The winning restaurants were announced in the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce annual Burger Days.  But really...everybody won last week!  Some of us ate our body weight in burgers and some of us discovered some new restaurants to visit and the participating restaurants are now taking a well-deserved rest!  The community hitting up restaurants to eat and visit and support local establishments is really good stuff.

Good stuff gallery

Here's some good stuff that was seen this week!  If you see good stuff, please let us know!

  • Eastman ATV spent some time clearing the trails after a windstorm last week making it a little safer for riders out enjoying the fall weather!
  • Sylvia and Desirae Huska and their family created this great sign for South Oaks School which can be seen in the school's lobby.
  • Avery Adrian is up early with harvest and shared this beautiful photo of the sunrise in the field.
  • Stuartburn Neighbourhood is filling their FB feed (and ours) with some unreal photos of what fall looks like in the RM of Stuartburn.
  • Martin Morrissette Drove up to the Ste Pierre fire hall after work one night and found a surprise for the fire department. It brought a big smile to is  face. The rocks are now in the boardroom now for the firefighters to look at every time they walk in.
