What should you do this weekend?  If you're looking for a change of pace, here are 5 things you could try to make your weekend a little more interesting!

Bid on a bull and bull rider during the auction and win some cash if your rider wins at BullNanza tonight at the Richer Roughstock Rodeo!  A big time rodeo in a small town is back this weekend in Richer with events happening all weekend long. Ride a mechanical bull, grab some pancakes on Saturday before the parade.  Mutton busting, a chicken scramble, piles of activities for the kids music and beer gardens in addition to the rodeo action Saturday and Sunday. Things start happening around 11AM on Friday and keep going until Sunday night!

 

 

Cheer on the contestants in the lawnmower races at the Redneck Night in Landmark.  Bike decorating contest, redneck horseshoes and line dancing lessons, a hotdog roast and live music tonight at the Landmark Friendship Festival.  The festivities continue with pancakes, a parade, vendors, kids activities all day long plus, comedian Matt Falk, Folkorama performances, a BBQ, dance and fireworks.  The festival wraps up with a church service and lunch in the park on Sunday.

 

 

Take a hike and bake bannock at Tolstoi Tall Grass Park at Prairie Day 2019 on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Guided walks and presentations will be taking place on the Prairie Shore Interpretive Trail with the Nature Conservancy of Canada.  You can also learn some fascinating facts about insects from an entomologist and discover what local plants could be used for medicinal purposes from an Elder from Long Plain First Nation. Located three kilometres east of Tolstoi, on Provincial Road 209.  Adults $5, kids are free.

 

 

Watch some motorcross in Grunthal on Sunday!  Starting at 9 a.m. Manitoba Motorcross Series Round 8 will be held at the GMX in Grunthal!  Adults are $15, kids 5-12 are $5, kids under 4 are free.

 

 

 

Eat something new in St Malo. Make bannock tonight at the St. Malo Provincial Park Ampitheatre from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Ingredients are supplied, you just need to bring a bowl for mixing and a mug for hot chocolate! If it's not bannock you're hungry for then try something sweet! Saturday morning you can search for berries and other delicious wild treats on a 2km hike with the Park Interpreters. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes for this hike. The hike starts at the park's Amphitheatre.
