The Winnipeg South Blues, Selkirk Steelers, Portage Terriers, Swan Valley Stampeders and Dauphin Kings were winners in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League last night.Riley Nixdorf had two goals and an assist as the Blues downed the Winnipeg Saints 6-2. Former Eastman Select Derek Mohr had a goal and three assists as the Steelers beat Winkler 7-3. Niverville's Justin Giesbrecht scored his third goal of the season for the Flyers. Jason Wright scored with one second left in overtime to lift the Terriers past the Neepawa Natives 2-1. Daniel Lamb had two goals and an assist as the Stampeders shaded the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 5-4. Steinbach's Tyler Harder assisted on Geric Brodt's powerplay goal forty seconds into overtime as the Kings edged the OCN Blizzard 5-4.

Steinbach's Jeff Penner of the Dauphin Kings is in Vernon, British Columbia where he will play for Team West at the 2006 Canadian Junior "A" Hockey League Prospects Game tonight.

The Eastman Selects host the Manitoba "AAA" Midget Hockey League's East Division leading Winnipeg Thrashers tonight in Steinbach. The third place Selects are four points ahead of the fourth place Norman Northstars and have five games in hand.

For the second night in a row the City "AAA" Midget Hockey League's Eastman Selects failed to score a goal as they were blanked 4-0 by the Winnipeg Warriors. The Selects, who have lost eight of the their last nine games, will meet the Warriors again Friday and Monday in Ste.Anne.

Winnipeg Blue Bomber slotback Milt Stegall has agreed to return for the 2007 Canadian Football League season which will be his 13th in a Bomber uniform. He joined the football club as a free agent in September of 1995. Stegall is already the CFL career leader with 133 touchdown receptions. His 136 total touchdowns is one shy of the CFL record of 137 held by George Reed and Mike Pringle.
