It was another wild tilt between the Steinbach Pistons and the Neepawa Natives on Wednesday night and it was the Pistons that came back to Steinbach with the win.

The Pistons got on the board first with the captain Jordan Bochinski finding the back of the net less than four minutes into the game. New comer Jack Johnson and Ryan Carlson picked up the assists on the opening goal. The Pistons leading scorer Mack Graham would put the Pistons up by 2 with just 1:10 left in the first period. Bradley Schoonbaert and Drew Anderson were credited with the assists. The horn sounded and the Pistons led 2-0.

In the second, things picked up for Neepawa. Before the midway point of the period, Pistons defenseman Ryan Carlson and Natives forward Brad Marshall dropped the gloves for the first fight of the night. Both players received 5 minutes for fighting and a game misconduct.

The scrap seemed to spark Neepawa as the Natives picked up the only goal of the period to make it 2-1.

In the third, the Natives struck again to tie up the game at the middle point of the period. The Pistons regained the lead for good as Bochinski notched his second of the game from Julien Koga and Landon Plett. Graham scooped up his second of the game just over two minutes later from Anderson and Schoonbaert. Schoonbaert capped off the night for Steinbach from Anderson making it a 5-2 final for Steinbach.

Max Cavallini and Riley Vautour also dropped the gloves in the third in what was Cavallini's first fighting major in the MJHL. Both players received fighting majors and game misconducts.

Roman Bengert made 20 saves for his 15th win of the year. The final shots on goal were 35-22 Pistons. Steinbach's power play went 0-2 while the leagues best penalty kill finished 4-4.

Steinbach returns home on Friday night against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines before heading on the road to Winnipeg to face the Blues on Saturday night.
