Wrapping up summer with fun, fairs, and festivals; this weekend's events
As school starts and the fall season gets closer, there are a few more events closing off the summer. Here is our list of what is happening in the southeast this weekend. Double B Agricultural Festival When: Friday, September 5th – Sunday, September 7th Where: Co-op Community Complex, Beausejour, MB The Double B Agricultural Festival is starting the weekend off in Beausejour. Friday is free admission day, bringing activities such as the Manitoba High School Rodeo, a Farrier, the Grey Cup Trailer, and finishing with the Midway, which opens at 5p.m. The rest of the weekend continues with many of the same activities, and more. Pancake breakfasts, parades, demonstrations, car shows, and fireworks lead up to the main event. The rodeo will take place Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Blumenort Fun and Fair Days When: Friday, September 5th – Saturday, September 6th Where: Abe G Penner Park Blumenort Fun and Fair Days is bringing fun to the last few weekends of the summer season. The event will begin with a movie in the park on Friday night and continue with a day of activities on Saturday. Saturday offers pancakes, a marketplace, a parade, food trucks, face painting, music, dog shows, and much more. Grunthal Family Fun Day When: Saturday, September 6th at 9 a.m. Where: Grunthal, MB Grunthal Family Fun Day has tons of activities in the community this Saturday. Pancakes, Slow-Pitch, and free public swim start off the day, followed by a foam party, face painting, and an outdoor showing of Lilo and Stitch. MHV Tractor Trek When: Saturday, September 6th Where: Beginning at the Mennonite Heritage Village The Mennonite Heritage Village is partnered with the Eden Foundation for the 16th annual Tractor Drive fundraiser. Beginning at the MHV, drivers will take their tractors in a large loop through the country. To register or pledge for the fundraiser, check out the Mennonite Heritage Village Website. Fire Truck Pull – RM of Tache When: Saturday, September 6th Where: RM of Tache Community Center The RM of Tache is having a Firetruck pull fundraiser in support of the community center. Residents, Community leaders, and firefighters will compete in the pull after the annual pancake breakfast, held at the Lorette Fire Station. Providence University College and Seminary centennial concert When: Saturday, September 6th at 7:00 p.m. Where: The Southeast Event Center As a part of Providence University College’s centennial celebrations, there will be a Zach Williams concert at the Southeast Event Center. As this is the first concert to take place in the facilities, it is sure to be busy.
