The residents of Steinbach and area have done it again.

A Community Christmas toy drive Wednesday and Thursday, sponsored by AM 1250 and MIX 96 FM, has exceeded the need. Hank Klassen of Southeast Helping Hands is grateful. "It's just fantastic to live in this city. People are so generous and so willing to pitch in and help, that's why we call it Community Christmas, because the whole community gets involved," said Klassen.

He adds they are close to reaching their budget for cash donations and would appreciate a little more help to purchase perishable items for the Christmas hampers.

Community Christmas expects to deliver more than 800 hampers to people in need this year.
