Development in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie continues to be stronger than expected. Council just last week approved three more subdivisions in the RM which will collectively make room for roughly three dozen new homes.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says the developments are located in various regions throughout the RM and each will be getting its own private street. The largest of the three, a 23 lot subdivision, will stem off of Kokomo Road two miles from Highway 52. A slightly smaller 8 lot subdivision will be built off of St. Roch Road. Finally, a 4 lot subdivision will be built off of Provincial Road 210, just west of Marchand. Weiss notes all three will be used for single-family dwelling units.

Though unsure of whether or not this boom in development is setting any records, Weiss says his RM is certainly seeing more new housing builds in 2020 than they have for at least four years.
