The Steinbach Aquatic Centre celebrated its ten year anniversary yesterday. Mayor Chris Goertzen attended and he says that "we've been really pleased with how its served our residents and its also allowed many people from outside our community to come experience Steinbach possibly even for the first time. Its been a great way for our residents to stay fit and enjoy family time together, its also been a great way to have other people visit our city".
The Mayor notes that the pool is an "important piece in the cities economic growth" in how it attracts people from outside of Steinbach and the immediate area. He adds that "there are many people who come to Steinbach because of our aquatic centre". He notes that its given visitors "a chance to experience our city and to understand that its growing, vibrant and welcoming".
In part of the celebration, The Steinbach Aquatic Centre drew names for free pool passes including a one month pass, a ten punch pass and a one year membership.
