Parks and ball diamonds are looking green but the ground is still soggy from all the rain this spring.

Bryan Gerbrandt with the Heritage Sports League says playing fields need some warm, dry weather.

“They are looking okay,” he says. “They've been pretty soft. There's been water everywhere, just like everywhere else. We're looking forward to next weekend and hopefully we can get the rest of the season underway.”

Spring play-offs are scheduled for June 12th.

Gerbrandt is hopeful we will soon get some drying conditions so they can get a solid schedule going.

“Every season we have, spring, summer and fall, we’ll have playoffs, so that'll bring people into the park,” he says. “We're looking into some other side tournaments, possibly teaming up with ROC Eastman, so we're looking forward to that, but there will be more details as the year goes on.”

Gerbrandt says, aside from the wet ground, Friedensfeld Park is looking good and he expects it will be a busy place this summer.

“Friedensfeld has done some great upgrades to their park. They've had to push back their park cleanup, but the park is looking pretty good and there are some nice play structures for the kids to play on and hopefully we can keep that going and bring the families to the park.”
