Levels along the Red River continue to rise in southern Manitoba.

Our province is reporting that since Sunday, the Red River has risen more than four feet at Emerson, nearly 3.5 feet at Ste. Agathe and more than two feet at the Floodway inlet.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is calling for flooding along the Red River that is somewhere between what was experienced in 2019 and 2020. By comparison, in 2020, the Red River peaked about five feet lower than in 2022.

The province is calling for the Red River to crest sometime between April 25th and May 5th.

However, projected crest dates and levels could all change as the result of this week's Colorado Low, which Environment Canada says could drop 30 millimetres of precipitation in some areas of southern Manitoba.

Meanwhile, south of the border, the Red River is at 21.33 feet at Fargo, which is minor flood stage. The National Weather Service is calling for the Red there to hit major flood stage by Saturday. It should hit moderate flood stage by Saturday at Grand Forks.
