Some schools in the Hanover Division will have cleaner ducts, thanks to some money from the Provincial School Ventilation Fund.

The fund was set up in December in an effort to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 within Manitoba schools.

The government announced that it would provide $6.8 million in additional funding to improve school ventilation with priority given to schools in regions with higher levels of community transmission.

Kevin Heide, secretary treasurer for the Hanover School Division, says they submitted an application which was approved and resulted in $51,405 to cover the cost of duct cleaning at Mitchell Elementary School, Kleefeld School, and Green Valley School in Grunthal.
