The Niverville Water Treatment Facility******

The Town of Niverville has provided more information on the issues surrounding its water treatment plant.

It says the hiccup is the result of iron sediment that had built up in the raw water line. A sudden increase in consumption led to sediment moving along the pipeline and clogging the treatment plant. This has been experienced by others throughout the province during the first few months of use and an action plan for full restoration is underway.

The raw water line was purged and cleaning is expected to happen Friday morning.

Another update is anticipated Friday.

The Town of Niverville is asking residents on town water to stop watering of lawns and gardens immediately.

In early June, Niverville’s new water source came online allowing the town to lift their watering ban. Just a month and a half later the town is now facing new problems. According to a release from Niverville town office, the water treatment facility is having issues. The town is asking residents to cease all watering to relieve stress on the system and to avoid an all-out water ban while the town works toward fixing these issues.
