Three schools in the Hanover School Division (HSD) will have new principals starting this September. 

The Hanover School Division Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Anders Rempel as the principal of Elmdale School, Vince Hiebert as the principal of Woodlawn School, and Amanda Dent as the principal of Bothwell School. 

Rempel is currently a vice-principal in the Chinook’s Edge School Division in Olds, Alberta, a position he has held since September 2023.

“Rempel was previously a teacher for HSD for 19 years. He taught at Niverville Elementary School, Steinbach Junior High School, and Stonybrook Middle School. He earned his Bachelor of Education in 1999 and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education in 2006, both from the University of Manitoba.” 

He also completed a Master of Science, Educational Psychology in 2014 from the University of Wisconsin. 

Hiebert has been the principal of Elmdale School since 2018.

“He served as vice-principal and learning support teacher at Blumenort School from 2015-2018 and as a curriculum support teacher for HSD from 2013-2015. He was a teacher at Clearspring Middle School from 2012-2015 and at Woodlawn School from 2007-2012. Before joining the Hanover School Division in 2007, he held a teaching position in the Sunrise School Division.” 

He earned his Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba in 2006 and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in School Leadership and Administration in 2011. 

HSD informs that Dent has 20 years of K-8 teaching and leadership experience.

“She has served as a teacher and school counsellor at Anola School in the Sunrise School Division since 2005 and was a teacher in the Hanover School Division at Blumenort School from 2003 to 2005. Dent earned her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Manitoba in 2003.”
