The mayor of the Town of Ste. Anne is happy with the new office building. It’s located at 14 Centrale Avenue.

Mayor Richard Pelletier says it was an important move that will accommodate growth.

“We really focused on making a building that’s really going to be there for so many years,” he says.

The new outdoor rink in Ste. Anne replaces the old one that had been around for decades.

Pelletier says it was important for the building to be aesthetically appealing and he feels they achieved the look they were after.

“We want to have some character and some antique look with the timber and so on,” he says. “So, we sat down several times to come up with a good plan and I think it’s a success.”

For the past few years, the town office was located in a space in the strip mall near the west end of Ste. Anne.

Pelletier says the space was not big enough.

“I had to give up my office when I became mayor, because there was not enough room for the people we have to manage the town,” he explains. “The new building is double the size.”

He expects this new office building to be able to accommodate growth for the next decade or two.
