RCMP now say the pickup truck was driven by an 18-year-old male. RCMP also say that while initial reports from the scene indicated the truck driver failed to stop at the stop sign, it is too early in the investigation to state that in such a definitive manner.

Police say a 54-year-old woman is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash Saturday evening at Ile des Chenes.

The collision at Highway 59 and Dumaine Road happened shortly after eight o'clock.

Police say a pickup truck, driven by a 19-year-old male from the RM of Tache was heading south on Highway 59. RCMP report the driver turned east in the median and continued east towards Dumaine Road without stopping at the stop sign. The truck was then struck by a motorcycle, operated by a 54-year-old female from the RM of Alexander who was heading north on Highway 59.

The female operator was transported to hospital in critical condition.

St. Pierre RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
