The Mayor for Ritchot says he would like to see more projects happening this year to revitalize the main streets in their communities. The Main Street in Ile des Chenes received a facelift in 2017 with some paving and Chris Ewen is hopeful they can complete a few more projects in 2018.

Ewen says because of the by-election last year, his new council has a lot of work left to complete in a short period of time. In 2017, council wrapped up a ward boundary review and Ewen says those changes should be in place for the October vote.

Also in 2018, Ewen says he would like to build on their very positive community open houses. In October and November, council held an open house in each community where topics were discussed such as main street revitalization, policing and ward boundaries.

"I'd like to do this at least once a year where we're getting to connect with each community in the municipality and seeing what's going on in their area," suggests Ewen. "It's not all the time we hear from people, they kind of keep hush hush until we're at their door. So we want to start going to your doors and asking you what can we do better."

And finally, Ewen says he would like to see more lots developed this year in the Riel Industrial Park in Ste. Agathe.
