La Broquerie fire fighters responded to a call on Saturday for a grass fire in Marchand.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, the crew was called out at 4:34pm.

The fire was extinguished with help from Woodridge Fire and Conservation.

While crews were at the hall, cleaning up from the call to Marchand, they were called out again for another grass fire.

At 7:30pm, they headed out to the fire near the intersection of Highway 302 and Road 26N.

“We ended up doing some back burn there and got it under control,” stated their report on social media.

Crews got back to the fire hall at around 9:30pm. They took some time to eat before cleaning up the hoses and trucks.
