The Winnipeg Jets gave up four unanswered third period goals and lost 7-3 to the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre. Lars Eller scored four times for the Habs. Tim Stapleton, Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd replied for the Jets. Wheeler, who also earned an assist, extended his points streak to six games. Winnipeg starter Ondrej Pavelec was given the hook 6:39 into the third period after allowing six goals on 24 shots. Chris Mason played the final 13:11 and gave up Eller's fourth goal of the night. Eller scored on a penalty shot at the 11-minute mark of the third, pulling a spinorama right in front of Mason and tucking in a backhander before falling over the Jets goaltender. Winnipeg (19-15-1) will face the Maple Leafs in Toronto tonight before wrapping up the four-game road trip against the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins.
