The Trans-Canada Highway has been re-opened at Deacon's Corner, on the eastern outskirts of Winnipeg. It was closed just afer midnight, following the collision of two semi transport trucks. It re-opened around 10:00 a.m.

RCMP report one of the trucks was hauling two trailers carrying 56,000 litres of gasoline and one of them ruptured, spilling a large amount of fuel. Police closed the highway, the nearby rail line and evacuated a nearby gasoline station and hotel as a precaution. Investigation determined the gasoline tanker was travelling eastbound and turning north onto PR 207 when it collided with a westbound semi. There were no injuries.
