24-HUSKIES COMETS
Steinbach Huskies playing the Lorette Comets in last year's HTJHL championship series

The Lorette Comets don't have to wait long to seek their revenge on the Steinbach Huskies after losing to them in five games in last year's Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League Championship best of seven series.

Both teams were Hanover Tache powerhouses last season, finishing with almost identical records, Huskies 22-4-1-0 and the Comets 22-4-0-1. Lorette finished with the first overall spot in the standings on the simple fact that they lost a game in a shoot-out compared to the Huskies losing in overtime.

Both teams will also be looking to regroup after losing a few of there key players from a year ago. Lorrette looks to be worse for wear after losing their starting goaltender Jordan Dreger, Captain forward Justin Boulet, forward Carson McCallum and defenseman Alain Lauren.

Lorette still has a good core of forwards led by Justin Dumontier and Tyler Lanteigne. Both players combined for 8 points, 5G/3A in the Comet's home-opener 6-4 win over the Beausejour Shock.

Steinbach also lost a few key players, forwards Tyler Lazaruk, Brayden Friesen, Adam Loewen and defenseman Jared Friesen. The Huskies will need to win Wednesday's game if they want to stay toe-to-toe with the Comets after losing their home-opener 3-2 against the Grunthal Red Wings.

The puck drops on tonight's championship rematch 8pm at the T.G. Smith Centre.
