It is another sign that fall is in the air.

Jason Peters, Manager of Recreation and Community Services for the Rural Municipality of Hanover says they will soon begin making ice at their two arenas. The Mitchell arena will have its ice

(Compost depots will start in September in Hanover.)plant turned on right after Labour Day, while the Grunthal arena will see its plant begin operating a week later. Peters adds minor hockey camps are being scheduled for both arenas in September already.

"So that's a reality," says Peters. "If you're one of those parents that's been pushing it off, you can do it for a little bit longer but it's time to get with the program."

Peters says it has been a fabulous summer for their communities. He notes their outdoor facilities have seen a lot of use; whether it is their picnic shelters, the pool in Grunthal or splash pad in Blumenort. He adds there is one more community festival remaining, which takes place the Labour Day weekend in Kleefeld.

Meanwhile, their compost program is also getting ready to start up for the fall. Beginning September 23rd, there will be depots on Mondays in New Bothwell, Tuesdays in Blumenort, Wednesdays in Kleefeld, Thursdays in Mitchell, Fridays in Grunthal and every other Saturday in Mitchell.
