It applied to the province for a grant but learned this week it will receive only $1,800. The Hanover Agricultural Society has received an $1,800 grant from the province to improve its facilities in Grunthal.  Spokesperson Wayne Lemay says that's a far cry from what they asked for.  But at least it will enable them to start.  Lemay says their list of projects includes repairs to the roofs of the barn and stables plus expanding grandstands, chutes and pens.  He hopes the province will come through with more money in future years.  Lemay adds the society plays a key role in promoting agriculture and its importance to the economy.
