Family and friends gathered at the Steinbach Regional Secondary School Theatre Thursday night for 'Adventure Quest' - the final recital for SAC's Backyard Theatre Company.

Artistic Director Jeremy Plett says they have been working on a lot this year including confidence on stage, acting skills such as projecting as well as writing and performing scripts.  Plett adds you always see a huge range of development throughout the year.

"This community program runs actually through almost the entire school year, so you get to see a lot of development in kids.  Not just their acting abilities, but who they are changes a lot in a year.  Young kids change so fast, so you get to see a lot of that, which his really cool.  Especially some kids that return years and years again.  You see a lot, you see them growing up, which is really cool."

Plett hopes many of this year's students can return in the fall.  The Backyard Theatre Company will start back up again in September.
