Friday could be your lucky day at McMunn & Yates!

“Grab a free hotdog, explore the store, try to find one of our five winning tickets, and it could be your lucky day!” 

This from Corwin Penner, Manager at McMunn and Yates in Steinbach. He says they’re kicking off MY Big Anniversary Sale tomorrow with free hotdogs from 11 ‘til 1, plus big deals and great prizes, while raising funds to support a local non-profit.  

“We’re accepting donations for Agape House,” shares Penner. “It's something I believe in, and the community has been behind for many years. It's a great program, especially in this day and age when a lot of people are struggling.” 

Penner notes the Manitoba owned and operated building supply company is celebrating 53 years in business this year.  

“McMunn and Yates got their start in 1971 in Dauphin, and from there expanded across Manitoba, and into northwestern Ontario and eastern Saskatchewan as well.” 

MY Anniversary Sale runs until May 8th, but tomorrow is the big day to visit the Steinbach location for free hotdogs and big prizes.  

“We’ll have five different prizes hidden throughout the store on tickets, a bit like a scavenger hunt,” says Penner. “So when you find a ticket, you win that prize. Our theme is Outdoor Living, so for example one of the tickets is for an outdoor fire pit. Find that ticket, and you’ve won that prize!” 

Penner says visitors to McMunn and Yates tomorrow can also enter for a chance to win a full gardening pack worth $250 – with shovels, rakes, Fiskars hedge trimmers, bypass loppers, and more.  

Aside from that, if you're looking for a deck or fence, Penner says the brown treated lumber at McMunn and Yates will have the best price in town all year long. For those looking to upgrade, they also carry all grades of composite decking.  

“We have lots in stock – you will not be disappointed. Come on down!” 

With the many services McMunn and Yates offers, homeowners will find they can get everything under one roof at the Steinbach location.  

“We have everything from installed windows and door sales to installed flooring sales. A wide selection of flooring. In-house drafting. Truss design. Contractor sales. Everything!” 

Penner says they also carry a wide selection of paint. “Find me and talk to me personally, and I'll give you a deal on paint!” 

Of course, a big part of the services offered are the staff.  

“We have the friendliest staff in town; each person is just as important as the next guy. I really love working here because the staff is just awesome.” 

On a personal note, Penner expresses gratitude to the customers throughout the Southeast. 

“I want to say thank you. We've been open for a little over a year now after the fire, and it's great seeing people back in the store, talking about how nice and big and beautiful it is.” 

While the store itself has grown, McMunn and Yates continues to provide small-town service and value to each customer.
