The Hanover School Board is responding to the letter of complaint sent to the Manitoba’s Education Minister last week by a local parent group.

The Hanover Parent Alliance for Diversity claims six trustees have violated provisions of the Public School’s Act.

In a statement issued on Friday, the board noted that trustees have not only reviewed the claims, but they have also engaged in a productive conversation with Education Minister Nello Altomare.

“Hanover School Division will continue to fully adhere to the Manitoba curriculum and Provincial legislation,” stated Chair Brad Unger. “The Board is committed to providing all students with a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, as outlined in our Respect for Human Diversity Policy.

“We would welcome a meeting with the Parent Alliance for Diversity to hear their concerns and engage in respectful dialogue.”
