The Steinbach Fire Department was called to a burning utility trailer on the parking lot of Birch Auto at around 2:30 Saturday afternoon.

Assistant Fire Chief Mike Penner says a vehicle was travelling with the utility trailer when something ignited in the trailer. He notes a firefighter was able to help with a fire extinguisher.

“They got him pulled over and one of our firefighters had a fire extinguisher and knocked it down. Now we are just going to cool it down a little bit just so it doesn't flare up again.”
