A new structure is going up in the parking lot at Steinbach city hall. Troy Warkentin, the city's Chief Administrative Officer, explains what it's for.

"With the recently approved project to complete the expansion and renovations to the east wing of city hall, we require the temporary relocation of staff in those offices. That will be the home of the Engineering and Planning department staff. We expect somewhere towards late summer they'll move in and will move back into the city hall building at the time of completion."

The expansion project is expected to take about one year. Warkentin says the temporary structure in the parking lot will be sold and moved next year after the city hall enlargement has been completed.
