A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect Wednesday evening for southeastern Manitoba, including Steinbach. The storm rolled in and hit Steinbach shortly before 8 p.m. Heavy rain along with winds, thunder and lightning were present, and there have been no reports of hail so far. At 9:00 p.m. the temperature was 26º with a humidex of 37º; only 30 minutes later the temperature was 20º with a humidex of 26º.

Two tornadoes were produced by the storm in parts of southwestern Manitoba near Lauder and Long Plain First Nation, southwest of Portage la Prairie.
