13 is the lucky number for the Steinbach Pistons as they defeated the Swan Valley Stampeders on Friday night to remain undefeated.

Steinbach wanted to get out to a fast start on the road and they did with Julien Koga scoring just 15 seconds into the game. The Pistons continued to push but the period ended with that 1-0 lead intact.
In the second period, Swan tied the game in the first minute with a power play goal. The Pistons got the lead again off of a Tyson McConnell wrester in the final minute to make it 2-1.

In the third, Will Koop tipped home a Darby Gula point shot to make it 3-1 Steinbach. The Stampeders never quit and battled back to tie it 3-3. Before Scott Petkau scored his first of the season and what would be the eventual game winner. The horn sounded and Steinbach picked up their 13th straight win.

Roman Bengert is now 11-0 and make some big key saves late as Swan looked for the equalizer.

Pistons continue their northern road trip in OCN Saturday at 7 and then again on Sunday at 2. Both games broadcast on Mix 96 and SteinbachOnline.com
