The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has been rescued from a $16,000.00 shortfall in funding this year.
The Chamber gets most of its funding from the city's business tax.  The city had projected that revenue would be about $155,000.00 and the Chamber budgeted accordingly.  But the actual revenues came in $16,000.00 lower.
Executive policy chair David Banman made a motion that the city make up the difference from general revnues.
Council gave its unanimous approval.  Banman says it wouldn't have been fair to leave the Chamber hanging with the shortfall.
