The Summer Reading Program in Steinbach included all those elements and involved 350 children who read 5,000 books. Co-ordinator Rachel Braun says students were challenged to read books that were a level or 2 out of their comfort zone, and many of them did just that.  The theme this year was "Quest For Heros" and saw Ian White, Michelle Sawatzky, a police officer and a fire fighter share stories with the kids.  Braun says they want to show heros don't have to have super powers and can be people like moms and dads and teachers.  The Summer Reading Program wrapped up Thursday and Mikayla Reimer took home the top prize which was a computer.
