Canada is turning 153 this year and the celebrations are looking a little different due to COVID-19 restrictions. There are a few communities that are still throwing Canada Day parties involving some social distancing.

Here's where you can celebrate:

St-Pierre-Jolys is hosting fireworks at 10:30PM.

Richer is hosting a party starting at 2PM at Dawson Trail Museum with cake, beverages, popcorn, and visiting hours at the Dawson Trail Museum. And then a “drive-in” style firework show at Dawson Trail Park at 10PM. You can start showing up about an hour before dusk in your vehicles. Parking will be available in the park itself, by the front gate and along the roads. The show ordered for this year is made up of higher impact shots. Cars must be parked 6 feet apart and guests can set up blankets and lawn chairs outside their vehicles on the left-hand side. This rule must be respected in order for the event to be hosted.

The Richer Community Club is also handing out about 500 Canada Day children gift bags to the first arrivals. These will be delivered to cars with children by volunteers from the Richer Fellowship Church who are also going to go from car-to-car with hotdogs and popcorn available for a minimal cost.

The Town of Niverville has partnered with the Niverville fair committee and is having a Canada Day parade on July 1. The parade will be along a pre-planned route so put your lawn chair on your driveway and get ready for some parade fun! Fireworks in Niverville will begin at 11 PM with high-level shells so that the fireworks are viewable across town. Niverville is not revealing the location of the fireworks to discourage gathering in one place.⁣
