Incumbent Reeve Lewis Weiss has been re-elected in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie, beating Candidate Cameron Peters by 185 votes.

Weiss thanks everyone who came out to support him at the polls and his campaign team.

"A great job to everybody, we thank all of the volunteers, we say thanks to the voters who showed up. Even the ones who didn’t, we still work for you as well. A lot of phone calls of support over this whole time, a big thanks to those people, a lot of developers, real-estate companies, farmers, I really enjoyed going to the farms and hearing their drainage issues. A big thanks to everyone."

Weiss says with some new councillors elected on Wednesday, they will now have to get used to working with one another. He says in talking to residents during his campaign, taxes were the largest concern and he looks forward to tackling that issue with council.

John Letkeman, Darrell Unger, and Alvin Derksen were elected as councillors in Ward 1 and Ivan Normandeau, Paul Gauthier, and Laurent Tetrault were elected as councillors in Ward 2.
