A lawn mower that was parked beside a house in Kleefeld caught fire and spread from there.

Around 2:30 the Kleefeld Fire Department was called to a residence on Third Street just off College Avenue. Grunthal was called in shortly after for mutual aid.

"When we got the call it call it came in as a vehicle fire," says Kleefeld District Deputy Fire Chief Armin Dueck. "About a minute later, they already told us that it had spread to the house. When we got here, the house was involved but the guys did a pretty good job of knocking it down and the damage stayed to about a third of the house. The cause of the fire is still undetermined."

Dueck adds the owner of the home as well as her dog both got out safely.
